Dr. Viii Sam is the Director of Peniel Counselling Centre and Institute for Biblical Counselling and Principal of Peniel Bible School at Poovanthuruth, Kottayam. He is an ordained minister of South India Assemblies of God Malayalam District Council. Dr. Viji Sam was born in a Roman Catholic family. Mr. Sam Samuel and late Mrs. Sarah Samuel of Poovachal in Thiruvananthapuram are his parents. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Personal Saviour in 1980 and took water baptism in 1981. He attained his B.Th degree from Serampore University, M.Div. from Asian Institute of Theology, Bangalore and M.Th. from Asian Centre for Theological Studies, S.Korea. He took his Ph.D. from Seoul Christian University, S.Korea in 2009. He served in the faculties of A.G Bethany Bible college, Gilgal Bible College, Kerala Theological College, Ebenezer Theological Seminary and Punalur Bethel Bible College. He has gained a special knowledge and training in Marital Counselling, Personal Counselling and Counselling Seminars.

He is married to Bincy Viji Sam and they are blessed with two children Bickson and Kesia
He founded Peniel Bible School on Nov. 16, 2003 and Peniel Counselling Centre and Institute for Biblical Counselling on March 7, 2010. He is the author of two theses called “A PSYCHOLOGICAL AND BIBLICAL STUDY OF PASTORAL COUNSELING ON ANXIETY OF YOUTH IN SOUTH INDIA” (M.Th.) and “A BIBLICAL COUNSELING AND ITS SUGGESTIONS FOR CERTAIN MARITAL PROBLEMS IN THE SUB-DISTRICT OF KOTTAYAM IN KERALA, INDIA” (Ph.D.). And he wrote several articles in the journals of Bethany Bible College, Bethel Bible College, Kerala Theological Seminary, and Ebenezer Theological Seminary.
